IPexpert CCIE R&S Lab Experience Overview:

Are you close to being prepared to take and pass your CCIE R&S Lab Certification exam, but would feel more confident with some additional practice in the company of a qualified instructor? Then the IPexpert 1-Week CCIE R&S Lab Experience is the perfect solution for you!

This course is one solid week of hands-on lab experience led by a renowned IPexpert CCIE training instructor delivering content developed by IPexpert, the leader in CCIE training.

Our 1-Week Lab Experience is designed to fully prepare CCIE candidates to take the Routing & Switching practical lab exam with the necessary skills and confidence. Please note that NO introductory material is covered during the lab experience; it is designed for candidates within a few months or weeks of taking their lab exam.

IPexpert CCIE R&S Lab Experience Details:

There are no scheduled lectures; over the five days, candidates will solidify their existing knowledge by taking four 1-day mock lab exams. However, the instructor is available to discuss 1-on-1 and clarify tasks you may be stuck on. Also, individual discussions often lead to group interaction and “white-boarding” to explain particular concepts in depth.  At the end of each day every student will be able to run a graphical grading script which will provde the student with their score, areas of weakness and the correct methodology that should have been used to complete that particular task (See the Verified Labs grading demo review below).

Please note that our instructor will act as a proctor by providing clarification in the same manner the proctor will during your certification lab exam. You will be challenged to think problems through without having the solution handed to you, which is part of your preparation training. If you still need additional assistance to complete the lab, then the instructor will work with you independently to ensure you fully understand the requirements and solution to that portion of the lab scenario.

You will be assigned a new 1-day mock lab scenario each day, Monday through Thursday. Friday is reserved for classroom discussion, Q&A and Reviewing your detailed score report (Verified Labs grading) and final configurations / solutions with your instructor.

Proctor Labs has announced its automated lab grading solution, called Verified Labs™, which means IPexpert students will receive a comprehensive grading report after completing the final "mock lab(s)" of the course. You can measure your successes, failures and focus on improving your weak areas!

Lab Experience Course Components:

  • Five full days; 8-12 hours or more per day (depending on student).
  • Course is held in a training facility in close proximity to hotels, airports and restaurants.
  • During instructor-led classes, lunch, snacks and refreshments are provided by IPexpert.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to purchase and complete a majority of the labs in our CCIE R&S Preparation Workbook. 
  • Students MUST BRING THEIR OWN LAPTOPS. See laptop requirements here.
  • Your registration fee must be paid in full prior to attending the course.

Lab Experience Technical Components:

  • You will receive some of the industry's most complex, in-depth and up-to-date graded lab scenarios. IPexpert course content is specifically designed for this experience and is not taken from our workbooks.
  • Each student is assigned access to a dedicated rack of equipment during the course.
  • vRacks consist of 13 routers (2800 or 3800 series - no outdated routers such as 2500, 2600 or 3600s!) running 12.3 / 12.4 mainline (with various Frame Relay, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces), and quad Catalyst 3560 Switches.
 

Lab Experience Prerequisites:

  • Students are expected to have a CCNP-level of knowledge with extensive CCIE-level preparation.
  • Students are expected to be close to taking their lab certification exam, just looking for additional hands-on experience.
  • Students should have purchased and completed at least the Workbook Volume 1: Focus Labs prior to the course.
  • To maximize your preparation time, the hardware available for rental at Proctor Labs matches the lab topologies of all IPexpert products. These are the SAME racks used in the course you will attend!
